Services

Services are held every Sunday at 10:00 AM.

Our weekly worship involves prayers, Scripture readings, a sermon, and Holy Communion for all baptized Christians — members or visitors, from any tradition — who wish to partake. We use the Book of Common Prayer, which contains ancient prayers in familiar modern language, and sing hymns from our Episcopal hymnal and other sources.

All are welcome to worship with us here at St. James' Church.

Special Services

In addition to our weekly service on Sundays, we celebrate the major feasts and other events from the Christian Calendar throughout the year. Join us for special services on Christmas, Easter, Ash Wednesday, and other events noted on the Calendar page.

Baptisms can be celebrated on any Sunday, but are especially fitting on the major Baptismal Feasts: The Baptism of Our Lord (Jan.), Easter, Pentecost, and All Saints (Nov.). For more information about baptism, or other services like weddings or funerals, please contact Fr. Philip, our Priest-in-Charge: Philip@StJamesRidgefield.org.

Sundays at 9:00 am in the Parish Hall.

Each week we explore the riches of our faith and reflect on its meaning for our lives. Our series (Jan. - Feb. 2024) was Signs of Life: The Symbols and Sacraments of our Worship. During Lent (Feb. - March 2024), Fr. Philip led us with a series on the Apostles' Creed, the ancient baptismal statement of faith shared by all Christians.

Prayer for St. James' Church

(Our weekly prayer for the congregation and our community)

Holy Spirit living within us,send to St. James' Church all who are hurting or in need and all who are searching for you or for answers to life. Prepare us this day to receive them as Christ would Himself. Give us discerning hearts so that everyone who crosses our threshold feels welcomed in the spirit of your love. Help us to recognize each person as an individual, sent by you, who will enrich our lives. And most of all, O God, let this be a place of love and acceptance for all your children; in the name of your Child our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
